Yeah, but I think they would be hesitant to start evacs until they can get more confidence from TPC on their track.

East of the eye is the dirty side...specifically the NE quad. But if she gets spun up really good, both east and west of the eye will get the tar kicked out of it.

From someone who went thu Charley least year, I wouldn't take any chances and leave as soon as you can. If she goes east or west of N.O, she is still a BIG cane!
Charley was compact compare to Katrina and look at all the damages it made. A few days away from home in exchange for being safe is worth it. Life cannot be replace.
If you have the chance of leaving now, I would do so. JMO.

NOLA will start evacs this morning in my opinion. The Contraflow/Evacuation plan has set time limits for when evacs must start. phase 1 50 hours etc. Even now may be too late to completely evac south east La. and the NOLA metro area. It takes a long time to get that many people out of harms way.
