The alaphabet continues...
Unless I missed something, the last hurricane to hit FL last year was Jeanne. The alaphabet isn't missing a beat this year.

Well, technically the last hurricane to hit Florida was Dennis earlier this year. Dennis made landfall as a category three near Navarre Beach.

An interesting fact...
If you look over the past year (Aug 26 2004-2005), Florida has been hit by five hurricanes and one additional tropical storm. Including the entire 2004 season, six hurricanes have struck Florida with an additional two as tropical storms. From the start of the 2000 season through today, Florida has experienced six hurricanes and seven additional tropical storms.

It's an interesting fact that many of us Floridians could have gone a lifetime without seeing.
And what worries me is that the true GOM season for those of us on the West Coast of Florida is traditionally the end of September through October.
After skating for decades (Charley being the exception) I wonder if the cold fronts will be unusually intense this season causing major problems from Tampa to Naples....
