Question about the trough

#1 Postby skysummit » Thu Aug 25, 2005 9:06 pm

Check out this link. That's the trough up there near Montana that's supposed to dig down and create this weakness to pull Katrina up right? It looks to me that it's head from west to east instead of digging south. Am I lookin at this correctly?

And there ain't a piece of dry air ANYWHERE near the Gulf. What dry air there is is over AZ, and it's moving NE... Gulf looks very moist to me.

Not nervous yet. Am I looking at the WV Loop right? ....as in not really seeing this trough dig down?

That trough is not digging down. It's in a zonal flow right now.

And actually, not only west to east, but somewhat north as well. Maybe that's not the player everyone's keying in on??? What "other" player is in that setup that will pull the hard right??

I don't know.?.? You can see the stream from the SW to NE near New Mexicoa and that area. Is that supposed to move further east and pick her up?

The 00Z GFS (8/25/2005) showed the low with that trough moving
NE into Canada - that's verified today.

The other player is the city of Pensacola... I think there is a hurricane magnet buried in the center of the city. Probably some old indian curse left over from the period of the Spanish occupation.

No really if this comes towards us on the western panhandle, I think we'll be toast this time.

It almost looks like that shortwave is riding over the ridge. I really doesn't look like the ridge is breaking down any right now. I guess over the next day or two it's supposed to since the majority of the models have her heading on a W to WSW direction then hooking to the N and NE.
