Derek, can you confirm 95mph gust at Virginia Key/RSMAS. Norcross and Mayfield were just discussing....

Derek the beach is getting hammered. Have any idea how stong the winds might be gusting here in SoBe. This is the worst so far today. I still have power but no cable, lucky for me i have DSL.

looks like the backside is going to be stronger. just imagine what this may have been had dry air not been pulled into the northern part of the core

Miami NWS update..

RECENT WIND GUSTS INCLUDE PORT EVERGLADES 92 MPH...VIRGINIA KEY 87 MPH...FORT
LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 69 MPH...PEMBROKE PINES 64 MPH...MIAMI
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 53 MPH AND NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN SWEETWATER
57 MPH.


I saw where Fort Lauderdale has since recorded 82 MPH.

things have really calmed down here on Virginia Key at RSMAS in the past half hour as the eye wall has finally moved away from our area
