NHC adjusting path north again?

#1 Postby lwg8tr » Thu Aug 25, 2005 5:09 am

Looks a Boyton\WPB landfall for the center of circulation. At 11:00pm last night the local mets were calling for a Mirimar\Hollywood landfall. What changed overnight?

Well, it has gained some latitude overnight. Went to bed thinking Ft Lauderdale, woke up and it looks like WPB.

The strike probabilitity right now for Palm Beach is 64% between now and Sunday. So yeah, looks like the track might be a little farther north than last night's thinking.

ont know where you guys are in relation to 26.3 but that is the official forecast track... I had to go to my map and that seems to be well south of jupiter... I may be wrong... besides if its the fireworks you want its better to be about 20 miles north of the storm.. youll have much more excitment than at landfall latitude

Disclaimer: 50% of the time I have no clue of what I am talking about. Chances are I am taking a less than educated guess that sounds good because 10 years ago I stole Mike Watkins book 'The Hurricane and its Impact'. yesterdy at this time i said cat 1 for all the reasons nhc eventually mentioned which is no great feat on my part. i am going to do what i shouldnt but its wobbling back sw again. nhc has left the door open for sw movement and it could happen as could a wnw movement so everyon from hoemstead to vero watch out. as jevo correctly points out, if you want a power outage than hope you are on the northern eyewall and you will have your best shot at it. i have 36 hours no power with frances and i was way south of it and also had 18hours this summer when the transformer behind my house took a direct shot in a t-storm. let the posts start flying about wehter its going w, sw, nw, wnw or stalled and at what lat it eventually ends up. total precip will probably be the biggest story once this thing gets going later this afternoon.

Geez, take it easy. Noone said anything about wanting to lose power or feel the fireworks effect...they asked a question.
