Wow! I love this! I finally updated to a new computer and I now have sound and am able to hear the broadcast! yippie!

Question for you Mike, if you get to look at the site again during the broadcast...

I've seen a bunch of models recently pointing to a curve to the northeast after emerging into the gulf. Is there a front on the way that is supposed to call this or is it a result of a retreating high or weakengin western edge?

Do we in Tampa Bay have to worry about a potentially damaging or coastal flooding event here? -can thsi pull a Charley-ish path?

I doubt it will be anywhere near Charley strength, but I live on a barrier island and any flooding becomes major for me!

Looks like more of a shortwave (weakness) in the mid-layer flow rather than a deep layer trough...which is acting to slow down the system after cutting through FL (in the models)...this could draw the system to the north and bring it close to Tampa Bay...my guess is it would primarily be a fresh-water rain event in that case as opposed to a battering waves/costal flooding event.

Although....with a stalled/slow moving system at the peak of the hurricane season...anything is possible.
