Westward Shift??

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

You think the track will shift east? I am just not sold on that. I think they may shift back and forth until they know what that High over TX and LA is going to do. If it stays put then I say more east but if it retreats west like the N.O. mets think it will then the track will be farther west. I definitely don't think that it will go up the peninsula.
Anything is possible. I guess we will see what the NHC does at 5pm. I trust them  I trust Don and derek too. This may be just a temporary shift with the models. Time will tell.

It seems to be starting the westward trend that the NHC is forecasting...

if you look on water vapor imagery you can still see a trough over the Carolina's. It doesnt appear to be digging further south but could it be enough to weaken the ridge enough to allow a more northward component?
