Holding tough!

The High pressure in the western GOM should hold tough and keep "Katrina" or TD 12 out of this neck of the woods, right? Comments.

yes, the high will hold tough....unfortunately the western extent of the high will not keep a storm from curving around it and into the gulf coast....east of nola though...imo.

Always ready here James. As the saying goes - "Never turn your back to the water." Always got an eye on the GOM here.

I also believe it'll be east of here....I'm afraid I'll be heading to Pensacola/Navarre again for recovery. Those poor folks.

I certainly dont wish it on anyone but I dont want it to come here either. What catagory do you think she will be IF she makes landfall along the GOM coastline?

Just a pure guess - I'd say Cat 1 (maybe a weak Cat 2). Again, just a guess.

im going to say cat 1 max because i think she ends up moving more up the florida peninsula than the current forecast....and reenter further north.

I see this storm as a possible north central GOM threat but
it really is much too early to call. I don't think Texas has anything to worry about at the moment.

I hate to say it but..... better them than us. I do not feel like cleaning up after a hurricane in 103 degree heat.
