My Monday Hurricane: Microburst sent my furniture flying....

Big storms over tampa bay sent out a huge microburst LIKE
A TORNADO- CHAIRS IN MY BALCONY WENT FLYING!!!!!-
unofficial record of near 70-75 mph gust at my place during
this t'storm!! WHY ISN'T THERE A SEVERE T'STORM WARNING
FOR MY AREA? These winds are clearly severe! :eek: :eek: :eek:

Damage to the pool area and pool screens is evident- screens
were ripped out CLEAN!!!! The doors and windows were SLAMMING!

I am very surprised I have still got power...

My very own MONDAY NIGHT HURRICANE....

If it makes you feel any better, I was visiting my sister on the north side of Atlanta last year when the weather got ugly. No sooner had the words "Think we should bring in the furniture?" gotten out of her mouth when a microburst obligded. A savage (and cold) gust grabbed her patio table and smashed it through the screen (open to take in some of the cool breeze) and pieces skidded across the kitchen.

Never a dull moment in the big city....

Yup I'll just wait till after the cane season- other parts of the screen were
damaged from Dennis's squalls...
This took place here in extreme northeastern St.Pete right near the
bay.

Aside from the damage- it was a very exciting event to behold
I could not believe what I was seeing!!!!

I've seen those 10 minute hurricanes here as well-even have video of them. Had one in 2003 that completely rolled and destroyed someone's brand new garden shed (he forgot to notice how many of those sheds here are tied down with anchor cables).

We had one of those guys here in South Orlando on Saturday. My apartment complex spent most of last week putting up HUGE palms all over the place.. After our mini-hurricane, they all fell down. I even wondered prior to the storm why they didn't anchor those bad boys up at all..

So they spent yesterday putting all of their downed trees back up. Mother Nature is a crazy woman..

Had our about a month ago all the patio furniture blew into the neighbors yard lots of hail and winds were strong weather station pegged 50 mph for about 5 minutes i kept thinking it was another Charley all over again.

We had one a few years ago. It was 80 mph straight line winds - I thought it was a tornado - I was driving and the lights went out ... saw a row of telephone poles snapped in half, hail and then a billboard blew across the road. Got closer to home and saw inches deep hail on the side of the road. Got home and trees were down all over the back of our property - and ours was one of the few roofs in our subdivision and the one next to it not to need a new roof. Some people needed new siding too.

We were lucky that the trees didn't hit the house. Or fence looks like someone blasted it with a shotgun. That's how hard the hail was driven. Strangely (and nicely) the hail shot mostly missed my husband's car parked in the driveway.

We had something like this happen a few weeks ago...

No warnings or anything. Funny thing is, we were on our way to go eat in that area, and we got there pretty much right after it had all happened. It looked like a tornado had gone through there, even though that couldn't have been what it was. It was crazy. And by the way, that Books-a-Million's roof is still screwed up. We pass it a lot. That's been like the signature reminder of this storm.

Same thing happened here a few weeks ago, my anemometer recorded the winds at 80mph, I got in the car right before the branches started falling, I dented my roof a bit, and I didn't get the storm i was chasing, but it was pretty exciting!
