TX Geographical Terms

#1 Postby jasons2k » Mon Aug 22, 2005 1:24 pm

OK, I wanted to post this information, since there is already a lot of TX talk, I wanted to clarify the Texas coastal regions.

Also - note - North Texas is NOT Houston or Beaumont. The term "North Texas" is centered near the DFW area.

OK, here they are:

Upper Texas Coast: Sabine Pass, Port Arthur, Galveston, Brazosport (Freeport/Surfside)

Middle Texas Coast: Matagorda, Palacios, Port O'Connor, Rockport, Port Aransas

Lower Texas Coast: Corpus, Port Mansfield, Port Isabel, South Padre

Ya learn something new everyday!

I always thought there was just "the beach," "hill country," the border," "up there where it's hot," "the capital," and "out west." :)

New ones added, showing Piney Woods.

Also, the "far west" is also called the Trans-Pecos region.

East not to be confused with Southeast. The Piney Woods are to my north. Mostly city folk down here, unless you veer off in the backwoods. hehe
