Now, I have more than 10k to put down on a home, but I want my payments to hover around 800-900/month. I found some in Fort Worth 4br/3/bth 2500sqft for $150, and I LIKE IT. Can anyone offer me some real estate advice..

I am looking into buying a home. I live in Tampa and the houses here are nice, but the neighborhood they are in are infested with child molesters and the like. My wife does not want to live nearby a molester, which I don't blame her, but the reality is they are all over Hillsborough, Polk and surrounding areas. a 4br/2bth house is running about $250k. Now, I did some research and found houses for 15k in Fort Worth Texas, and I like Texas and yes zero molesters .

My advice has always been that location is the most important factor in buying a house. Even if it is a little push on the expense side, a better neighborhood where resale values stay steady or go up, is really the better value too.
I also know that there are registered sex offenders and criminal types in every walk of life...every type of neighborhood and city. Dallas and Forth Worth, too.
Simply put...invest in a slightly smaller house if you must, but try to find a neighborhood where prices stay steady and crime is lower in general.
Worth researching wherever you end up.

I'm not surprised that you found something in Fort Worth that was significantly less expensive...because of the unlimited amount of space Texas has for outward development, we haven't experienced the same "bubble" effect markets like Florida, California and parts of Nevada and Arizona have. $150k is a fairly average new home price in most major metros here.
That said, though....have you visited and researched the neighborhood that the home you are interested in is in? I spend a lot of time researching the DFW real estate market, and I can tell you with certainty that a matter of a few city blocks can matter a heck of a lot when it comes to market value. The neighborhood you are looking at might look great on paper, but you really have to go there and have a look around to know whether or not its a fit.
If you have children, it would also be smart to dig up a little info on the schools. If you know what district the home is in (it should say on the listing if you are looking at HAR.com or anything using MLS), go to the Texas Education Agency's website ( http://www.tea.state.tx.us/ ) and look up the district's TAKS report - its a good way to learn about the quality of the schools & the demographic make-up of the area.
You also didn't mention whether or not you (and/or your wife) would need to find a job in Texas if you moved. Low real estate prices can be tempting, but a big move requires a lot of planning, too.

The GOM don't bother me one bit. I have 4 kiddos, and my line o fowkr is in the legal field. I am 34 years old.

having 4 kiddos is not a problem, I just want a great place for them to grow up and Florida is not on my list..
