Eastern Atlantic Tropical Summary - EATS OUT on August 21, 2005

Two in interesting features today:
1) Invest 97L continues to look good as it moves westward across the
tropical Atlantic. The system still has good banding features, and is
slowly getting better organized. I would expect this system will
become a tropical depression in the next 24-48 hours.
2) Dry air reduction - the large area of dry air continues to shrink in size
as more moisture emerges from Africa. This area, once very large,
was prohibiting development of waves as they emerged from
Africa. If this trend continues, future waves will have a much better
chance of developing in the eastern Atlantic.
