Eastern Atlantic Tropical Summary - EATS OUT on August 20, 2005
<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/eats20050820.jpg">
A large wave has emerged from the African coast, and already shows
signs of organization. Basic banding features, particularly on the south
side of this system, are impressive so far. The surge of moist air in front
of this wave (notated in green arrows) if fighting off the brutally dry SAL
to the northwest of this wave.
As this wave continues moving west over the next few days, I suspect
we will see it become an invest in the next 24-36 hours. I would not be
shocked if this develops into a tropical depression or storm in the next 48-72 hours. Stay tuned !!!!
A tropical wave near 40W is beaing annihilated by the SAL.
An upper level low persists near 28N 42W and will not develop into a tropical cyclone.

dh! I thank you for your daily posts. They are concise, informative and entertaining.. When I wake, I make sure the GUTS in, then I wonder WATS up. My favorite part of the day is when I get to EATS out.
Thank you for the analysis and the humor. It gives me something to think about on the drive to work.
BTW...the dry air looks like a big thumb! Did it insert the thumb tack too early for 97L?
