Keep antagonizing this guy and we will pay the price....

I haven't done any research, but I sense that he's a blow hard trying to consolidate his power by creating external enemies. My advice: Ignore him. Let the oil market work. He's addicted to the income as much as we are addicted to the oil. Money talks louder than anything else.

Yes, because history shows us that things turn out well when we depose South and Central American leaders.![]()
Oh wait, isn't that how Fidel came to power? And Noriega? And Pinochet? And , shall I go on?

I think an ostrich with his head in the ground understands me more.

Hugo Chavez is messing with our national interests. He needs to be addressed in a way that does not harm our national interests. While running away and conforming to all his demands is an option, and assassination is an option, maybe real diplomacy and hard words can effect a change down there. Its an unusual way of going about things, but could work...

At some point in time, the people will realize that all talk and no improvement doesn't work. If the US was able to afford not to but their oil for a few months there would be a large economic issue for him to deal with, which would of course bring the matter to the forefront. However since we need their oil all we can do is wait and ignore him.

They voted him into office twice.
Do they really know the difference? Just curious. I met a Venezuelan and he said their choices are limited.

I would hope that as the world in essence shrinks because of the use of modern communications, that the people will begin to see what is going on in other areas of the world and take notice of it. By human nature most people are curious when given the means they will use them. Of course I can be totally wrong, I am just putting my faith in the human spirit to know more and learn more.

Hmm, sounds like US in 2000 and 2004.

I don't have a problem getting rid of him, but stop the threats. I am pretty confident that you cannot pay $10.00 a gallon in gas. This guy is a major oil supplier...
You will if it's the only gas around..
