A few wks ago I posted a prayer request about finding a teaching position. I started as a long term sub Tuesday of this week. The principal spoke to me today and said that if the teacher was unable to return due to her health, I would be offered the job as a permanent teacher. He also said that even if that teacher returns, something else may come available and that I'd be first in line for any permanent position. The district even pays for long term substitute teachers' insurance. That is a God-send!
Thanks for your prayers. Please keep me in them that I'll be able to perform my duties in a way that would please the Lord and help my students learn the skills needed to be productive citizens!
By the way, I'm teaching two 6th grade English classes and one 8th grade English class..... quite a big jump from 5th grade almost 3 yrs ago LOL...but I am enjoying it thus far.

You'll do great Tim! Those 8th graders can be a challenge...but it just goes with the territory! I start this Friday (19th) at the Vocational School I teach at....the kids start coming Mon.....but some won't be there for another week! We have 18 or 19 different school districts that attend.
Just be yourself and keep those high expectations......p

It's great to be back doing what I love to do. After being in the classroom for almost 15 yrs and then taking a couple yrs off due to illness and personal probs, I am enjoying being back where I belong. I didn't realize just how much I missed it until I walked into that classroom Tuesday!
Yep, it can be very stressful, but it's worth every minute of it when you see a student finally grasp a concept that you've been trying to get across to him/her forever lol.
