Had Bush not invaded Iraq, we'd be paying 2001 prices for gas.

A higher poll rating is only a terror attack away.

Too bad ANWR was blocked for so many years. Too bad we only have 149 refineries in the U.S. and there hasn't been a new one built in like 30 years. Too bad the radical environmentalists have made that so hard.

Too bad we rely elsewhere for our oil.

Instead of blaming Bush, try placing a little blame on the American people who support policies that block new drilling and the building of new refineries. It's that simple.

I don't blame the American people for not wanting to drill for oil. I blame them for being lazy, short-sighted and greedy for not utilizing the technologies we do have to create hybrid automobiles and others that utilize other fuel. There are plenty of other sources of energy that are INFINITE instead of finite like oil.

BEER - if there is another attack, I don't think that would mean higher ratings, I think it would mean even lower ratings because people voted for Bush because they felt "safer" with him. If we have another attack on our soil, that safety net has just gone "poof".

Gas companies are loving the price hikes and so does Bush. I'm sure they have him shutting his mouth for a good price.

Last I heard, we had 15, of which only 12 are operating. Originally (pre-EPA-OSHA), we had about 30. :larrow: Besides, building new refineries which will met the unrealsitic EPA/OSHA standards is not cost-effective (it would cost more to do that than utilize existing conditions, which would drive the cost of oil up more)...therefore, prohibitive.
