Why I have been away

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Tue Aug 16, 2005 5:06 pm

and NO it's not because I need a break lol..

During our thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon here.. My landlord believes not 1 but 2 LIGHTNING STRIKES hit my apartments.

These strikes traveled through my wires and fried my TV. So I can't even watch TV right now {put a nice new 1 on lay away today though}

and sadly.. MY COMPUTER IS APPARENTLY GONE TOO!

I did not have renters' insurance :sad: so.. it may get kinda expensive.. But I'll try to get to the library or the college as often as I can to check my mail and anything else.. :wink:

I remember one time when lightning hit around where I live and went through the phone line and fried my modem. Fortunately it was a external modem, so my puter didnt get hit. I have a surge protector which has my phone lines running through it.

sorry to hear that John. If you are able to get another computer again soon, be sure to buy a surge protector. If you pay around $20 for a good one with a guarantee IF anything happens to it they will then pay for it! Look for one that has so much $ amount in coverage.

Get renters' insurance!

I don't mean to sound harsh or anything, but renters' insurance is maybe $150 a year for $20,000 in coverage.

Consider this a lesson learned.

And I'm very sorry to hear that this happened to you.

I'm also weighing the idea of renters insurance
