Unless Doppler radar velocity data (this was the basis for
upgrading Gaston last year, along with a 985 mb pressure report from a
coastal observing site [987 mb is a typical threshold pressure value
for a Cat 1 hurricane]), Cindy will likely just remain a strong TS at
landfall. The TC Report should be completed later this week and,
hopefully, posted on our web page before the end of the month.
Just a heads-up for guys like Matt-hurricanewatcher who are so concerned about those records.
