The track may well end up right over your area or just west. Prepare for extended power outages starting Wed PM.

have to work in houma, but i dropped off my son and our important stuff to my oldest son's house in Thibodaux with our generator as well. We sandbagged around the house and now, we wait!

I'll try to keep everyone updated on conditions as long as i got cell service and as long as my phone is charged.

I'm in Springfield, LA now after moving back, stay safe, I'll try to keep everyone updated as well if it shifts east like the ICON and GFS model predicts I'll probably be right on the east side. I'm debating doing a livestream to test out my new action camera for as long as WiFi and cell service lasts if that is the case.

This dry air intrusion is a blessing, or we could be looking at a Cat 4/5 making landfall. I'm hoping it only makes it up to the 105/100 MPH top strength.

This storm is a lopsided mess right now with the dry air intrusion. The whole envelope still appears to be moving west.

The current convective band to the north is a storm in and of itself. Impressive

Francine has to get rid of that outer band explosive convection before it can go anywhere in terms of intensification. Taking up all the energy from the core, but also an indication that it is fighting dry air.

Agreed. Core convection is finally starting to compete with it so it may start weakening over the next few hours. Wouldn’t expect significant strengthening til then.

Pressure continuing to slowly drop, extrapolated to 989.7 this pass. Dropsonde will probably have it 1-2mb higher, which would still be a couple of mb lower than the previous pass. IR satellite doesn’t tell the whole story.
