So Beryl did have a small area of eyewall winds when it made landfall.
Outside of that area, how far north are the Cat 1 winds extending?
Damage reports are likely to be pretty steep although most of the roofing replaced after Harvey should hold up OK.

We live on a corner with three — count 'em, three — sewer drains. The first thing that happens is that they get clogged with the loosest branches, magnolia leaves, pine needles, newspapers that people didn't pick up off their driveways, etc., etc., etc. I went out about an hour ago to try to get that @*#%! out of there during a "lull" between rain bands, and got soaked, of course. The surprising thing is that the rain was considerably warmer than I've felt in most other tropical storms and hurricanes. Weird.

For those of you who were sleeping like me while making landfall. Good thing it ran out of water and dry air intrusions kept it a bay at yesterday longer than what hurricane models were forecasting.

This may be a cat 1, but this storm is packing a punch. This thing is wicked. I'm honestly surprised my power is still on. Have an entire new respect for " just a cat 1" and the eye is not expected to hit this area until about 8.......power just went out as I was typing this.

This and the radar suggest the eye finally got itself sorted out better, just as it made landfall . . . glad she didn't have those hours, as she would've made good (bad) use of them.

Speaking for myself, I think I can stop my obsessing over this one, maybe. I'd just about decided it was some unhealthy delayed PTSD response from Ida and the rest. For those in the path with Harvey twitches, this will pass. The bucket truck convoys have already been passing through and getting salutes from us. Good luck and godspeed.

The GFDL would've had all this figured out by now.

A strengthening cat 1 is always worse than a weakening cat 2.

Yet another system that would’ve been a much bigger problem if it had like 12 more hours over water.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Is it just me or is the eyewall looking stronger than when it made landfall.
