Cat litter. Fill your bath tub full with water. Use this FIRST for drinking only and before you dip into your water bottles / jugs.

Bucket, trash bag, scoop of litter, do your business, another scoop on top, twist and throw. Rinse and repeat. You could be out of water for an extended period of time and drinking water should prioritize flushing toilets.

There's a smart idea that I never thought of?! That or have access to lake water that you could use to fill the tank with for each flush!

We used pool water back in 2004, lets just say we had plenty of it. I was in Cocoa Beach back then.

No significant flooding where I am in Key West, however I imagine the east facing side of Key West at minimum has roads underwater. We made it past high tide and the water levels are falling on the tide gauge, however that is currently the leeward of the island so I don't if the water is falling on the windward side.

Winds are currently at 41 mph gusting to 55 mph here in so by definition tropical storm conditions but we have not had many bands so if we get a heavy band it could get ugly.

We lost power around 4am but just got our it back on. Not sure how, maybe they fired up the Stock Island power plant because its too windy for any line work.

I have the feeling the Casa Blanca resort on Siesta Key will be needing more chairs soon. Surge is approaching fast.

Staying in Tallahassee to ride this out in a secure building. Hope I have a house to go back to when I can get there in a couple of days.

Having a look at the fl511.com traffic cameras. Siesta Key is really starting to get inundated with surge. There are three traffic cams on the island and each one is showing the roads completely under water.

Does anyone have information on Tierra Verde and/or Indian Shores? I have only been able to find a couple of short videos so far. Any links or information are much appreciated.
