In fact, I’d argue it looks nicer than several tropical storms we had this season. Definitely taking advantage of the short window it has to potentially earn a name. Hopefully we get ASCAT, but with ASCAT’s track record it will miss again and we probably won’t know how strong it is at the moment.

Looks like in the last couple of frames it has pulled the LLC under the convection

Eleven finally got some attention now that Franklin and Idalia are gone

Looking pretty good now. This is the kind of storm that looks like one ASCAT away from being named.

Looks as good as Bret or cindy ever did and better then Arlene by far.

Looks as good as Idalia ever looked before reaching the gulf. And most of its time in the caribbean it was badly sheared.

SAB/TAFB/ADT all at T2.5 at 6Z, with SATCON and AiDT also showing TS support. Even with no ASCAT, seems like this was enough to trigger the upgrade. What an August it has been!

So TD-11 has become TS Jose and rightly so it has a wrapped core and good circulation.

Looks like it’s trying to build a tiny inner core.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

How true CE...I thought what is now Jose, was going to dissipate. Any concerns for the UK? Or anyone else?

Not a concern for any land areas as it moves thru the open Atlantic and dissipates in the next few days.
