Re: ATL: HENRI - Hurricane - Discussion
That big LL High to Henri's SE appears to have strengthened and tugging more on Henri than the ULL to the west.
Likely Henri will be moving moving more east now.
LI has dodged the bullet but Cape Cod may be more in play.

Henri can be seen on the long-range radar out of KOKX (New York City)

Thinking Nantucket will be upgraded to Hurricane Warning at 11pm. JMHO only.

Henri’s likely around peak intensity right now. The center is leaving the Gulf Stream now and the door for intensification appears to be closing. The northern part of the circulation still has anemic convection. I’m guessing that Henri will be around 65-70 mph at landfall.

Re: ATL: HENRI - Hurricane - Discussion
Henri’s struggling yesterday and early this morning seems to have caused it to go more east of forecast, sparing NYC of the worse effects it seems. Definitely good news as even up until this morning it was looking like I was gonna get substational impacts - and the 12z HMON yesterday actually had this making landfall just SE of where I live near in central NJ, which would’ve been very bad here, probably worse then Isaias was.

A little late to the game but let’s see what he can do while still over warm water.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

It looks horrible to me. Should landfall as a tropical storm although a very messy looking lopsided tropical storm

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

Can’t we just get one Tropical Storm before it breaks apart near landfall. Talk about fizzle city.

CDO still expanding. It's right at the upper edge of the gulf stream.

I'm surprised Henri doesn't have more hype. To me, a minimal hurricane in New England is like a major hurricane in Florida or the Gulf.
