Re: ATL: ISAIAS - Hurricane - Discussion
It looks like Isaias will be in one of its strengthening phases as it makes landfall, which will certainly pack more of a punch than if it were weakening.

expected it to regain hurricane strength so many times yesterday, looked at it around noon and figured it was finally never gonna get it back but it finally stacked up and got that gulf stream juice, good luck to all my old neighbors and friends in Myrtle

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

Five named storm US landfalls including two hurricanes by the first week of August. Been quite a year already

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance
Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

The strongest winds will remain in the NE quadrant. Here is the official guidance from NHC:

Here is the GFS forecast for winds:

My DE hurricane history knowledge isn't as strong as it should be, but considering we got direct impacts from Fay and now almost certainly from Isaias, this might be our most eventful hurricane season ever by tomorrow night lol

Multiple possible tornadoes, thanks for the heads up!

I guess 2005 still has 2020 beat as the earliest date for two US hurricane landfalls, right? Because Cindy was upgraded to hurricane post-season and Dennis.

CC drop in a well-defined hook between Oak Island and Boiling Springs Lake. Quite possibly a waterspout came ashore and continued as a tornado.

Yup. Isaias could be our windiest event (tropical related) since Sandy. Lots of rain coming too. 2-5 inches in most of the state.

Wilmington/Myrtle Grove area needs to take note. Strong rotating cells will be coming on shore within the next half hour.

Looking at Wilmington radar appears either the eye is forming an inner wall or the 32 mile wide eye is tightening. What am I seeing? Looks like it’s continuing to move more toward oak island Wilmington area.

Kudos to pro Met Wxman. He called it this morning. Good job!
