I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Yea, believe the strongest winds Recon found last time out was well SE or ESE of the center at that time.

Sounds like it weakened ever so slightly but I’d keep it at 60mph for the next advisory.

It felt cool early in the week in Key West, not the last couple of days.

So far we've got about 2" of rain, with isolated areas up to 4". Some minor flooding so far with much more expected.

Not much chatter on here for a storm that could make landfall in South Florida, considering the concentration of S2K members in the area.

I know right?!

The only thing I could see is the election or the fact that it’s a Saturday night. But as SouthFLTropics said most (including me) are beyond sick and tired of this season.

Yep. It's happening on every other forum except the political ones. No one is worried about a tropical storm when the next two months look to be the worst of an already catastrophic year. Even I'm stressed. I got physically angry when Miami radar went down.

I think it's because everyone just realizes that it's only going to be a big rain-maker with with very gusty winds.....
If it was expected to be much worse, the board would be flooded with posts....

There's more activity when there's more unknown variables to hypothesize over. Despite the fairly atypical nature and approach of Eta, the actual expected scenario has been pretty consistent, dating back to late last Tuesday when this first crossed my radar. All that was left to figure out was the specific timing, which clarified what the approach and impact to Florida would look like. Not too many unknowns at this point, at least as it pertains to the next 3 days.

I no longer fear hurricane season. at all. And there's lots of us like that. at this point the burden of proof is on the storm and it has a high hurdle to jump. Show me an eye on approach...unless and until then...the panic-o-meter is registering very low..

To top it off, we got massive election coverage right now and even the weather channel didn't show anything earlier today, literally flipped to TWC around 2 pm and saw Storm Stories was on... guess no one expects this to become the next storm story.

that's fine, we might as well turn our backs on this too lmao... hoping here that Eta doesn't decide to RI near FL and bite everyone in the butt come Monday.
