I’m guessing you haven’t seen the latest 12z GFS yet?

One model run doesn't atomically mean it should be completely trusted like you seem to be doing. Wait for other models runs before making such quick judgments.

People will never learn. Need to see what the rest of the 12z suite says, and see if such trends continue at 18z.

I highly doubt the NHC will base the intensity off a run, there needs to be consistency. Which we had none of as of now.

After 3 consecutive runs of the GFS showing a borderline hurricane, lets not all harp on one weak run as the end all be all...

I’m waiting to see what the rest of the 12z suite shows, especially the Euro before breathing easier.

Eta is a weaker shell of itself. Currently looks like an elongated mess when looking at visible satellite loops.

Or maybe because he is not basing it off on one run like some here are.

Like others have said- One run does not make a trend. Last night and this morning there was a borderline hurricane into south Florida and this run shows a nothingburger. Can it happen? Sure it can, just as easily as the next run can go back to a hurricane. Recon this afternoon will be key

Right now it’s a mess but that was expected; these things take time to consolidate. Let’s see what happens when r recon flies in

It just got off a 2-3 day trek over mountains, I'm not exactly sure what you expect it to look like at this point. Now that it's off the coast, the next 24 hours will be important to see if there's any time of consolidation, if at all.

Definitely looks better on Mimic than it does visible satellite. It appears to be starting to spin faster too. I would expect visible to start looking much better soon. Also, the environment looks rather decent...http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/m ... anim=html5

Wow 57, rarely see you this gung-ho about a hurricane, definitely gets my attention! Thanks for the heads up, I will let my folks down there know about this possible storm because I'm sure most have their backs turned on the tropics with the election going on. Gonna be quite a weather surprise and yeah, some will likely lose power. A strong TS or Cat 1 is more than enough for significant impacts and floods down in South FL. I remember when Katrina ran over Miami-Dade as a Cat 1 and caused lots of power outages and tree damage.

Models have been in the 980-995 for many runs, decent consistency IMO.

Pretty confident if issued that from broward down to the keys a hurricane watch will be needed.

A watch (If NHC pulls the trigger on hurricane watches) for Broward and PB may come later (Though they may group Dade and Broward together) both the HMON and HWRF were further north this run, if that trend continues then we will see more shifts in the TVCN as well as the NHC track and watches will have to be issued further north.
