That’s a helluva slowdown. 18 hours later for a landfall 75 miles further west. 4mph?

Oh you are at the south jetty. surprised there weren’t any surfers out. Did you see some on the north side?
They are on the north side of jetty because the current is going from south to north.

Re: ATL: ALBERTO - Sub-Tropical Storm
Last few images on 1km visible look like it has started to wabble more to left now. convection continues to try and wrap around. slowly getting better organized.

Re: ATL: ALBERTO - Sub-Tropical Storm
well I can say the western half of Alberto is impressive and at the best it's ever looked at the moment, big feeder band setting up on the western half as indicated on the sat loops..

I have to say that my friends at family joining me at Venice Beach were impressed with my forecast to them that the wx was going to be nice & sunny this afternoon at the beach. Just a little breezy and the gulf is fairly rough.

Wunderground composite radar loop from the 3 radars shows the progress of the convection wrapping around.

Just breezy in Fort Walton Beach between Pensacola & Panama City , not sure if we will only have west side of storm or not, I guess it depends if it keeps going North or not. Last info sees like it was coming a bit sooner that they anticipated. The radar looks NNW to me.

Model consensus has shifted a tad to the west at 18Z, I would expect NHC track to follow at 5PM EST advisory.

At the end of the loop you can see a hook as it wraps, that's pretty cool looking

Looking at the SFWMD radar image (one with the track superimposeD) it looks like Alberto has veered well west of the official track see http://my.sfwmd.gov/sfwmd/common/images ... gif?100610

forgot about that loop. you can clearly see it veering to the wnw ish the last hour or so.. and convection coming up the east side.

First it was going east of forecast, and now it's heading more west of forecast.

Re: ATL: ALBERTO - Sub-Tropical Storm
What effect does Alberto moving more west now than expected have on rainfall across the peninsula? Does the center moving farther make a difference in this scenario? It looks like it's just going to keep drawing feeder bands out of the FL straits.
