Really not much to Cindy. But as I watched the coverage on the Today show I started to wonder which causes more damage. The actual weather conditions or network hype.

Just checked the rain gauge and here in west Pensacola we have a storm total of just over 7 inches of rain and it's pouring again. Also just had a confirmed tornado just to our east at Eglin AFB. The ride to work should be interesting.

You're right cane man. It's not very impressive is it? But major storms don't happen very often. This is just your run of the mill kind of thing. Like a lot if things, it's pretty much overrated. Don't blame you for feeling that way. Sometimes it takes years for really important systems to appear. Louisiana had a 500 year flood just last year. Are you aware of that? 25-30 inches of rain in 48 hours. But many never heard much about it. Didn't have a name. God bless! Hope you never have to experience what's real, and not just the usual reports from websites.
It's not that I feel any way. Just pure observation. Living on the West coast of Florida, I've experienced many storms especially of the flooding variety. T.S. Debby nearly put us completely under water. T.S. Colin gave us 12 inches of rain while T.S Hermaine.dropped nearly 22 inches of rain. Floooding was everywhere snd they both occurred just last year. I never said this wasnt a rain producer. I questioned if it should even be named last night based on obvious obs and looking at NHC reports this morning, it looks like they do too.

This should be called subtropical storm IMO. Naked swirl, dying convection displaced well to the east. Amazing that this is only 200 some miles south of LA coast and almost everyone south of I-10 is dry. Kind of get how people feel up in the northeast when they have that big noreaster and get completely dry slotted.

Could even argue for post-tropical at this point. NHC could still issue advisories.

Dry south of I-10 are you kidding me. I'm in Panama City and have had over 4 inches of rain. Plenty of other people south of I-10 have had that much if not more.

Cindy has a vigorous COC and is adding convection. She's making at run at Galveston, IMO. Bears watching atm....

Re: ATL: CINDY - Models
Looking at the spaghetti models looks as though the HWRF has shifted west a little.

Not looking like Cindy is in any hurry. Might be another stationary situation again.

Getting take shelter in Slidell, La Tornado Warning. My phone and TV both. It's near by.

Just drove west from Biloxi to Stennis Space Center (LA/MS line). Traffic was light, moderate rain. Looking at satellite, looks like that dry air mass on the west side of Cindy has finally wrapped around to her south, hopefully giving us a much needed break from the rain. Can't say as much for the FL panhandle. Looks like they're still getting drenched.

I doubt Cindy is a tropical cyclone anymore. Obviously the Euro's crazy idea on it's 12z run yesterday of showing a borderline hurricane was overdone.

True, but I also think there were some false assumptions on here that low 990s mb would be a near hurricane. It's currently at 996mb. Not hard to imagine that some sustained convection near the center could have brought it down to near 990.

Re: ATL: CINDY - Models
At this point no matter where the center comes ashore it won't matter since all the convention is removed several hundred miles away from the center to the north and east.

Latest vortex message puts pressure at 995mb.
