looks like we have a closed but narrow eyewall now.. if convection builds deeper around it expect even more strengthening,

SFMR winds seem to be catching up right now, with the highest unflagged winds of 61 kt. Hermine may be on the verge of becoming a hurricane.

we have decent surface heating today in SE florida with southerly gusts to 30...sending some healthy convection up to our friends in central florida..just about the whole state is on on todays action

77-knot flight-level winds equates to 62-knot surface winds using a 0.8 conversion factor, and that 64-knot SFMR winds were flagged. Not enough evidence for an upgrade to hurricane at the moment, but this will be upgraded within a few hours anyway.
