Guess I better break out the snow chains.

Is this what you're asking for?
While that is cool, I was thinking of another product which i Know the NHC uses often in reanalysis, it basically shows the wind field dividing it into numerous 10 knot increments, people have brought it out for Isaac, but I just can't seem to find it.
Edit I found them at the Hurricane Research Division page.

Geez, that sounds pretty bad.

Regardless of recon, which probably found the lowest pressure rotating in the center, there was a recent clear move NW. I'm guessing there will be another hook west after this move.

Just want to point out the residents were in a mobile home in a mandatory evac area. I am in no way down playing the severe weather situation in that area and I pray for Issac to speed up and spare those affected from further torment

From the radar and satellite it really looks like the eastern side of the eye will be over NOLA between 3 and 6AM CDT at the latest. There is nothing in the steering wind strength to suggest a stallout. If there is you need to point it out.
Ok.. I will point it out, please read the last 10 pages of the model thread and you will see what we are talking about....![]()
Also if you can show me any factual data that shows hurricanes actually slow down once they hit the coast....That would be a good read for me. I never knew that...
LOL, yeah I don't have enough tasks in multi-task kit to follow it all, but I meant more the consensus and especially NHC. Let's see what the NHC says for the 10PM CDT discussion.
Also, I will definitely get you a link to that material. But I can tell you that it is even in the old classic "Atlantic Hurricanes" by Dunn/Miller from the '60s, one of the first authoritative studies that is still considered a classic.

Between the vdm fixes @ 23:40z and 1:59z, 9.73mph speed. Definitely a slowdown, but neither a stall nor a crawl.

18z GFS indicates a slow west drift the next 24 hrs staying offshore.

One of us misheard because I heard him say that residents of a mobile home in the area under mandatory evacuation said THEIR mobile home was moving (swaying) so they are following him out. He called them "followers"...

I am thinking he is stuck from land friction and no steering.

This loop clearly shows the WSW wobble. Looks like a drift to the west accompanied by a wobbling motion.
Just an amateur.
