IMO, the center may be over the Bahamas moving N or NE, but the convection is E of there and appears to be moving WNW towards SFL.

Forecast steering charts suggest a N-NW movement for today and tomorrow we should see a sharp turn to the NE and picking up speed.

NHC wording in 2pm TWO was done in such a way to ease any concerns that this is heading towards FL. I would expect a TS Warning for Grand Bahama and Great Abaco at 5pm only. No watches for FL.

THIS SYSTEM WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE SLOWLY NORTHWARD AND PRODUCE SQUALLS AND LOCALLY
HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE NORTHWESTERN BAHAMAS TODAY. THIS SYSTEM IS
THEN EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE OPEN ATLANTIC ON
SUNDAY.

As of 3:06 PM EDT, the sky officially started falling here in Tamarac with a respectable thundershower dumping a nice amount of rain.

the fault lies with the NHC, not sure why this would not be reclassified as an invest as if it was a new storm popping up...butthat is the way the NHC always seems to handle these situations

I agree, the area that they are in right now NE of the deep convection is the area that I mentioned earlier that I saw shoot off to the NE away from the deeper convection.
They need to go to the SW and see if they find a tighter circulation there along with lower pressures, the lowest pressure that they have found so far is 1012mb.

looking at Miami long range I am wondering if the center isn't a bit more west now? Or another vortice?

Rain shield not getting any closer to the coast. I got that sick feeling we'll be watching this from a distance yet again, like we did for Bret.

On radar, the convection seems to be waning.
