Already getting reports from trees coming down in the area knocking out power, so no enc should not let their guard down. Local mets here are telling that still will get worse as far as rain with higher winds tonight thru tomorrow. By the way I'm in New Bern. IM

That makes sense to me. South Florida members will have little additional interest in this rainstorm and from a Tropics enthusiast standpoint the NHC says it has about 24 hours of life left in it until it is absorbed.

well, it turns out for our area they have kept them up, don't know why. They did give the percentage as an update which is
...NEW INFORMATION...
UPDATED PROBABILITIES, WIND AND FLOODING SECTIONS.

...PROBABILITY OF TROPICAL STORM/HURRICANE CONDITIONS...
THE CHANCE FOR TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS AT THIS TIME IS 25 TO 32
PERCENT. THIS REPRESENTS A GENERAL STEADY TREND SINCE THE LAST
FORECAST.

They would need permission to fly across or have to spend a lot of fuel going around. Otherwise I think they would love to check out more of the storm.

Basically something like don't let your guards down there because once Nicole gets over water for a period of time off the east FL coast heading north there's always a possibility of some strengthening. As many have said before this system is feeling the effects of the trough and everything appears to happen way east of it even with a slight western shift. Stay safe everyone, lots of rain.

Are my eyes lying to me, or is there rotation in the FL straits to the west of Key West?

I see the rotation south of Key West, there is even some showers to the west of it now. I am interested what happens when it gets to that convection that is parked to the east of there.
