Good afternoon everyone! I'm rob and I am ecstatic that I was showed this site by Infdidoll (about a week ago, been having issues registering) Any how its nice to find a place to talk about weather out here in the WESTPAC. I'm the owner of westernpacificweather.com if you have ever stopped by there... but I am not here to promote my site in the very least, just glad to find a place to chat up the westpac and get some second opinions.

Great to see you here, Rob! Wonderful meeting of the meteorologically minded around here. I'm sure you can contribute a lot to our discussions and I highly encourage everyone to check out Rob's site. :)

Finally starting to see the storm move to the NW, with the ridge building in to the N, was a little scary there for a few hours when that trough moved to the N, I was really second guessing for a second on if that really was going to jog W.

Awesome imagery there, canes! Thank you!

Rob - Yeah, we had a nasty one that came through here around 1230 this afternoon...Unfortunately, I was out driving in it. Wanted to make plans to get out of the house tonight, but don't think I want to deal with anymore of these storm bands. It's been pretty quiet. I'm sure we'll be in for some good rumblers, tonight!

Good morning, Rich.

Here is a link to where you can find a Taiwan radar:
http://www.cwb.gov.tw/eng/index.htm

I don't know if that will take you directly to it, but if it doesn't, there is a menu on the left-hand side and the radar is under the Observations category.

This page is also good if you want to see satellite images:
http://www.goes.noaa.gov/guam/

Under 'large regional area coverage' they have some great satellite loops. Hope this helps!

Oh my its looking like Karl did when it bombed overnight, we could well have a 4/5 with this one if this presentation holds for a while, looking very solid over the past few hours!

The thing is this one has an awful lot of time to strengthen, I really do think we are looking at something between 120-130kts 1min winds and maybe even that might end up being a smidge low if it really goes to town

KWT, finnally the WPAC gets decent ACE units and surpasses the dead EPAC. But with the Atlantic sprinting, it will be difficult to surpass that.

Nah Cycloneye I think the Atlantic has a winner this time round, but Fanapi is going to finally raise the WPAC from its record breakingly low ACE so far...but still a ways behind 1998 which was also exceptionally slow...

Very impressive eye right now, I agree with it possibly getting higher than the max fcst of Gust to 110kts

Likely at the 15Z update we will see an increase, the southern RYUKU island of Mayaka is really going to get hard from thing..

Yeah its looking real good there, the only slight downside is the northern eyewall doesn't quite as solid as it could be but other then that no reason why this one can't get quite abit stronger then forecasted...

Agreed KWT, that northern eyewall could be a little more organized..

Why does it look like more than a Cat1 system for me?

Other then that though I see no reason why we won't have a strengthening system over the next few days.
