I was just looking at the visible loop and man does thing look screwy I can't see hardly any low level moisture (inflow on the south side) of Ida, some mid level. On the SW side of her it looks like the low level clouds are moving away from her core.?

Looks better than it did nearly 12 hours ago. Went from falling apart rapidly to holding her own.

Just had a rather heavy rainband move through (Mobile), but the wind remains relatively light at this point. The airport is reporting sustained winds out of the NE 16 mph, but there were some occasional gusts into the mid-twenties at my place during the heavy rain. It's the same band that extends from NE of Mobile down through Grand Isle. The heavy duty wx is really around Grand Isle and just off the mouth of the Mississippi.

Ida is having no direct impact on the weather in Haiti. Any rain in Haiti is due to an upper trough

I will be surprised if there are any sustained 70 mph winds onshore, gusts maybe.

Going to be an interesting night, looks like I'll be far removed from any winds over 60mph over here in Destin, sounds like a winner all in all!!
