Wow, reds still popping up and the eye is still visible nearly two hours after landfall. Overall, her structure looks quite imprssive. I hope everyone down there stays safe.

Radar still shows some 90kt and higher winds at about 2,000 feet, so probably still 75-85kts at the surface.

Wow txwatcher91 that would be crazy if this ssytem is still giving winds that strong this far inland though I'd guess it would be in gusts rather then sustained by now.

Yep...Father-In-Law is headed to Harlingen in about 8 hours for the clean-up with about 10 crews!

I have a feeling that these numbers will continue to climb!

A beach drowning death in Panama City Beach, FL is being attributed to rip currents caused by Hurricane Dolly.

Seems quite unlikely that Dolly would affect currents on the FL beach from so far away. Winds along the beach there have generally been less than 10 kts the past day.

Power outages now roughly 111,000 customers with the numbers rapidly rising in Hidalgo county. Would not surprise me to see nearly 200,000 AEP customers without power by the end of today. With all the flooding occuring, it could be a while before crews can reach these areas. Not a good situation at all.

Bertha caused rip currents in Myrtle Beach. Seems that they'd be even worse in the confined area of the Gulf.

Wow, she's just parked over S. TX (for the most part). Going to be a huge rain issue down there.

Local station in Houston just said a lot of people who stayed on S. Padre said they wish they'd left. That intensification before landfall caught a lot of people off guard, I guess.

SPI has been hit pretty hard.

Per con call with SPI...they finally got in...there is some pretty good damage to roofs...only one injury and that has been transported to mainland, no other health issues. All services, phone, water, power, sewer are knocked off line to SPI.

Two shelters have taken damage one on SPI (convection center) and one in Raymondville (school).

AEP reporting 74% outages in Cameron Co, 85% in Willacy Co...and Hildago is going down fast.

One large trasmission tower of the Port of KBRO is downed and the entire AEP network is hanging on one remaining transmission line...if it goes down the whole grid will be knocked out.

State will be deploying massive amounts of resources at 600am Thursday to the valley...POD team, search and rescue, and air support.

That's very wrong. We've had chest to head high sets coming in all day up here in the panhandle due to Dolly. Usually if there is a storm or hurricane in the Gulf, despite how strong it is, it affects the entire coastline.

SPI reported everyone wants off the island now...Causeway is still closed until winds fall below 45mph. Hotels have taken good damage to windows and roofs with water flowing inside...shelters of last resort being set up on the island until causeway is opened.

Thanks for the updates. What a nightmare for people who didn't get off a barrier island that took the landfall.
