I think Fay is no longer a TS.

It seems to be a broad low....

Your right, there is still a circulation but it is not of TS strength.

Pressure at 999.2mb

32 kt wind http://ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=MBLA1, seems reasonable there could be some higher around.

I have a foot of water in my house from Fay.

I live in Callahan, FL (north of Jacksonville). According to my rain gauge, we had 12.25" of rain in a 24 hour period. So now my house is filled with brown water from Thomas Creek. My whole street is flooded...and that's rather saying something since my street is semi-rural (most of the homesites are 5 acres). Thomas Creek is way behind my house (in the woods way behind my property). Well, it's USUALLY way behind my house - it's currently IN my house. FEMA was out in the neighborhood today. The FEMA guy said that this area may be declared a disaster (but it was up to the Governor - I invited him and the Governor to come over).

Yesterday, when we knew the creek was going to get in the house, we moved everything that was on the floor over to the 'other' side of the house (or upstairs). We live in a two story house that actually has a split level ground floor (part of it is 3 steps lower than the other side). The stuff that we didn't move (like the beds) we raised on cinder blocks (what are they - like 9" high?). Last night at midnight water started seeping in. This morning at 7:30 water was an inch over the top of the cinder blocks and it was looking like the water was going to go into the higher part. We needed to get everything out ASAP. I was lucky enough to find a large U-Haul truck that could be picked up at 10:30, so my husband and I went to get it. I cannot tell you how touched I was when we got back to find about 15 people there to help us pack up everything and load it. I made two phone calls this morning to ask two people to come and help. Two turned into 15 or so. There's no way we could have done it without these dear people. Their outpouring of generosity was amazing. I've heard it said that troubled times can bring out the best in people. Today I witnessed it. Amazing.

I have taken lots of pics - and if I can find where the cord to download the camera to the computer is, I'll post some here.

Getting rain in Bridge City TX (just across TX / LA border) and from the recent radar loop, it appears it may be a result of Fay. I hadn't checked the radar for several hours (mowing for the first time a week!), so it may just be from a front moving through - Hard to tell.

Still breezy with a drizzle in Pensacola...the tide is quite low compared to normal.

I am thankful we've had no damage and for how much I've learned just in a few days from everyone on Storm2K!

from what I have heard about FEMA take all the pictures you can. Get the carpet out, cut off the sheet rock above the water line, and spray a bleach solution. don't want to get in the the mold problems. Make a storm folder and keep any receipts no matter how small.

So what's the forecast for the dry air? Is it here to stay or will it pass by allowing more heavy convection to band up and come on shore? I live in SW Alabama and was wondering if I might see some of the heavy bands of rain. Local weather said we should get several inches of rain tomorrow but if the dry air stays I just don't see it.

OK - Backed up, took a look at some longer loops - NOT a DIRECT result of Fay, but without her circulation, I don't think I would be wet right now lol........

So what are the chances of this being only the second Tropical Storm to be retired? Allison of course was the first in '01...and boy do I remember that one! So far it's caused hundreds of millions in damage and has caused the deaths of 11 sp far. Any thoughts?

With Fay on the verge of losing her now infamous name, although the rainmaker her remnants may continue to be, i think Fay's lifespan can be summed up with 5 F's

Florida
Flooding
Fickle
Frustating
Fascinating

Will 94L get over 600 pages of posts? Time will only tell...

Fay's really being torn apart now. MLC is way up in central Alabama, leaving only a remnant swirl in southern AL near 31.2N/87.1W. Appears to be moving NW or NNW now. Safe to say nothing in the way of heavy rain for southern MS or New Orleans.

Been a crappy day here, they are saying the heavy rain for Pcola and Mobile will be here tomorrow afternoon, but cant see by radar...as it moves west of us, is NW Florida going to be in the heavy rainbands on the eastside?
