Yep, now we have to see if this convection persists.

loop: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/loop-jsl.html
I'm not at all clear how a MLC and LLC can become stacked or the MLC drill down to the surface but it seems to me convection firing right where the MLC is located has to be a sign something is happening.

Re: ATL: Invest 92L in Central Atlantic
Don't know if its been mentioned already in this thread...but local met mentioned 92L and 93L. Said 92 has over a 50% chance of developing per NHC....but also said theres dry air in front of it which might slow development. Also saw the Wunderground 92L blog which mentioned SAL dust on 3 sides surrounding it which may also hinder development. I'm not counting it out by any means....but it seems to have a tough road ahead...or at the very least a slow one unless conditions change.

That view always makes things look better but I have to say (and I'm wrong oh about 99.2% of the time) it's suddenly looking like it wants to get organized.
Now I'll take an oath of not posting for a few hours then look again.

I guess this is why we all love the tropics, things are always changing and keeping us entertained. All day we had loads of convection but no structure and now we have structure and no convection. That MLC has to be the dominant feature now, IMO.

Mecklenburg the last 6 or 7 posts contain links to imagery, have you clicked on them?

I just want to note while the Olympics are on commerical that this is the first time the circulation is producing its own convection instead of the surrounding dynamics...

It's pimplelicious!
Convection should expand by the morning hours as DMAX kicks in.
