meteors!

#1 Postby somethingfunny » Mon Nov 10, 2008 5:09 pm

I saw at least 5 of them walking my dog last night in Pottsboro, a little bit away from the larger cities of Sherman and Denison.
The night before I saw one flare and fall directly above bright(ish) Denison, TX while delivering a pizza! This is too cool....too bad today is rainy. :(

What gives on the hightened meteor activity lately?

It's the Taurid Meteor shower which is associated with Encke's Comet. and which has elevated activity about every 3 years with a high frequency of fireballs.
