I like both these CNN anchors, but clearly the 2 of them together isnt working

I noticed that too but that's probably because Rick Sanchez always monopolizes conversations.
He's a pain IMHO

Josh wrote:The Marquesas are reporting some serious damage. Boats sunk and structures fallen but still little info. Four meters is looking like the height they are dealing with. They are still waiting on the fourth wave in the series. Here in Tahiti we don't seem to be getting it. Seems to have been directed more northwardly. Am wondering how Hawaii will fare.

I am watching the news on Hawaii News Now and one of the scientists said that Tahiti is protected by a reef while the Marquesas are not, so Tahiti should not feel the full force of any tsunami.

Thanks to everyone for all the good links

My thoughts go to anyone on Hawaii (and obviously in Chile) right now. Stay safe :flag:

Watching live on CNN. Just showed that there was a 9m(~30') drop as the tsunami passed the buoy 140 miles off Hilo. THAT DOES NOT TRANSLATE INTO A 30' FOOT WAVE but it does show there is definitely a tsunami on the way. Calculations are that the first wave should hit in the next 5 minutes or so. Let's hope this is a huge non-event!!

Go to Google maps, search for Hawaii, localize your search, hover over the 'More' tab above your map, then click on 'WebCams' in the drop-down menu...

maybe this one will have the settings I'm seeing using this method...

Hard to see anything when they keep switching the camera every 5 seconds.

Fox news just reported that some areas of Hawaii are reporting the water receding on the beach. They did not say where. I'm surprised by the lack of decent video since the networks had about 4-6 hours to put a camera in place.

CNN now receiving multiple reports that water is starting to recede from beaches in several areas. I wish they would just stop switching the cameras around every few seconds. If there is anything to see no one will see anything the way they are moving them around. It would be wonderful if this is a HUGE NON-EVENT!!

Absolutely strange to see the waters and beaches in Hawaii deserted in the middle of the day!! Also wonderful to know that we have the technology to keep as many people as possible safe in this type of situation.

Wow, just wow. I just turned on my TV for the first time today and saw this on all the news stations. My prayers go out to those in Chile and Hawaii, as well as everyone who will be effected by this.

If they would keep the camera in the same place, you might be able to notice the water receding.
