Give another 24 hours if the convection increases only marginally and I have no doubt we'll see TD #7.

And like Wxman said, the possibility for TD #8 is around the corner too, hope you guys enjoy active late seasons...

Where is the system that is talked about to be TD#8. :?:
98L= presumed to be TD #7.
????= TD #8

Looks like more convection is starting to pop up on the eastern side of the storm. I bet this will be a TD by late Sunday.

A supposed Frontal Low off of the SE US.

The Euro I believe has been showing this scenario lately, it's something to keep an eye upon, but surely just one eye with an obviously Major Hurricane Felix on the way and maybe TD #7

wxman57 mentioned a system developing off the SE Coast from an old front next week.

TPC 2:05pm Discussion

WELL DEFINED TROPICAL WAVE IS TILTED ALONG 19N34W 6N36W MOVING W
15 KT. A 1009 MB LOW SITS ALONG THIS WAVE AXIS NEAR 13N36W. VIS
IMAGES SHOW THE LOW-LEVEL CENTER EXPOSED TO THE E OF SCATTERED
MODERATE CONVECTION LOCATED WITHIN 300 NM TO THE W OF THE
CENTER. THIS WAVE IS OBVIOUSLY FEELING THE EFFECTS OF ELY SHEAR
PRODUCED BY A STRONG UPPER HIGH CENTERED TO THE N. FURTHER
DEVELOPMENT IS POSSIBLE AS THE SYSTEM MOVES W INTO A MORE
FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. IT IS NOTABLE
THAT THIS WAVE IS PRODUCING A LARGE PERTURBATION IN THE ITCZ
ACROSS A RATHER LARGE AREA.

Thanks for the clarification on possible TD #8

Kind of presumptuous to discuss a TD #8 when there isn't even an existing system to attach it to.

Not that I doubt that we will see a TD #8 this season but personally I don't even think about something that might occur down the road.

At least I know what y'all are referring to now.

It would not surprise me if 98L becomes TD7 and Gabrielle. Some of the models have it moving towards America. Something to watch.

Here you can see very easily the center of circulation east of the thunderstorm activity...

Luis (and the rest of us small land space people), this is the one I really, really didn't want to watch...I leave on Tuesday early a.m. for Florida, NC and Montreal and won't be back until the 27th. Well, all will be tied up and tied down regardless. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

Have a safe trip and leaving all prepared in Culebra just in case is the proper thing to do.

Now, the season is picking up. The last Jerry in 2001 formed in October. I remember Jerry of 1989. A small hurricane that hit Texas.

Convection has been on the decrease over the past few hours....This should have a better chance once it moves into a more favorable enviroment.

Most of the models have it moving southwest into the Caribbean. It started out so far north after it came off Africa that I was really hoping it would be a fish.
