With that single pass - abort on the last mission, this first pass has me a little nervous for them to tell the truth.

I can only imagine what it's like to fly in those conditions.

Pressure is lower than earlier so it has intensified slightly

i dont think it is as intense as it was earlier .. they missed the most intense part of the storm .. but thats ok .. there still alive

Aric, they punctured the SSE portion of the eyewall, correct? The sat overlay on google image is a bit old. Hopefully they'll get the NE eyewall after a few passes.

I expect the winds to be as strong or slightly stronger than earlier in the NE quad...the pressure is lower and that means intensification.

The cloud tops are warmer=less able to transport the winds down.

Well, those two 147's...if they are still using 0.9 comes out to 152 miles per hour surface winds (or 132 knots).

They're flying at opperational altitude, this doesn't make much difference. Stay on topic.

Also, 147kt on the NW side. Still eager to see the NE.....this mama is intense.
