Getting windy here in Baytown. No rain, the air seems nice and dry here. would never know there is a Hurricane about 50 miles away.

All that are in TX remember that when storms come in strengthening like this the gusts are much higher!

Cant believe none of the big school districts haven't canceled school yet. Just shows that this sneaked up on every one and there isnt good communication going on.

I think the wind is 80 knots or 95 mph at the surface. Really tryed to bomb before landfall.

Definately with you on that one. I'm just mad they didn't transmit (or maybe didn't do) any drops on that last pass . . . hopefully they drop some this time through . . .

You'll do just fine. :) There's plenty of people here on the board and there's plenty of people in chat.

As far as school closings, kfdm.com is already listing some. It's from earlier this evening though http://www.kfdm.com/news/closings_22251___article.html/school_area.html

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that the eclipse pretty much sucks. This is one time it would have been nice to have something to look at. :x

LC Base Loop out to 1:09am. Looks like Humberto's just a few miles offshore. Follow the reds.

I know!!! Unbelievable! I know it was a tropical storm not too long ago but still, they can cause damage also, not as much as a hurricane obviously.....geez....1 day off from school isn't going to hurt the kids

Lightning is also going crazy with the new pocket of reds just offshore far western Jefferson, plus I'm getting the hail tag again.

Hey Wind, it's out to 1:14. Look at that last little windup as it heads for landfall just west of the LA/TX State line.

After going back into the center for a (another?) fix, they are now going out through the SW quad now and finding some decent winds there, probably a max of about 50kts. Does go to show that that side of the storm is getting its act together as well . . .

Last buoy report for me, bed time, but it looks like the center passed very close to this one.
