Report: Four Killed in Illinois Mall Shooting; Suspect on LooseTINLEY PARK, Ill. — Four people died in an Illinois mall shooting on Saturday, according to a Chicago Tribune report attributed to the county coroner.
More than a dozen ambulances were at the Harlem-Irving Plaza mall in Tinley Park, about 30 miles southwest of Chicago, and the shopping center was locked down, MyFoxChicago.com reported.
Five shots were fired at the Lane Bryant store at 191st Street and Harlem Avenue, Deputy Clerk Laura Godette said. The incident occurred at 10:45 a.m. CT.
Police were using a helicopter and K-9 units to hunt the suspect, MyFoxChicago.com reported. He is described as a 230-pound black male, 29, wearing black jeans with colored jewels on the back and a black or green jacket and black hat with one braid sticking out the side, Tinley Park police told FOXNews.com. No other suspects were being sought.
No further information was immediately available.
Residents were being asked to stay away from the area.
No suspects were in custody, MyFoxChicago.com reported.
