Clocks will be set back one hour on the first Sunday in November (November 4, 2007)

You just had to remind me. My insomnia gets twice as bad for awhile. The only good part is for the children at the bus stop at the corner. Its so dangerous right now. One of them almost got hit by a car this week.

Thanks for the reminder. My neighborhood college's electronic Bulletin Board said the day to switch our clocks back is October 28th.

They go back this weekend on the 28th october here in England

yes they do..done it for a long time..almost the only country that do it in Europe..the concept of children having to go to school in the dark and coming home in the dark..which is in this day and age easily rectified..mummy or daddy can pick them up in the beautiful 4x4 ultra centrally heated nest box on wheels

Actually, almost the whole of Europe observes summer time too. It's important so that places like France for example don't suddenly jump two hours ahead. It's the same reasoning for them as it is for the UK.

Thanks for the reminder! This will be a first for Halloween, trick or treaters will actually go door to door, while it's still daylight out! Not that I have any little kids who go trick or treating but it will be nice for parents, and for drivers to see the children.

Also, there's confusion this year. I've heard of several people asking - hey when does the time change againg? My high school aged daughter said several of her teachers have said students will be either tired or rested come Monday morning, b/c of the time change. LOL!!! They're a week early this year......he he

It gets dark just after 4:30 here. Stupid eastern edge of Central time.

I'm not up at 7am anyway so I don't care if it's light then or not.

Geez... I think about the earliest it ever gets dark here during the winter is 5:30. I wish it would stay daylight until about 8:00 p.m. year round.

The earliest it gets dark here is about 5 p.m. My next door neighbor who hates winter and wants sun 24/7 (moved here from CA, mind you) is down in the dumps on the Winter Soltice day. While I'm just about outside dancing a jig! LOL

I love cold, rainy wx.....yeah I know it's an odd thing to admit but I like holing up inside, doing craft projects, sewing, baking, etc. Or just putzing on the computer, like I am right now!

I like most of you enjoy the longer light hours we have in the spring and summer, but my only complaint with this new time change is now on Halloween we will have to wait an extra hour till it gets dark to go out with my 3 kids trick or treatin'. I mean it will almost be their bedtime before it gets dark. Halloween falls on a school night this year too. *sigh*

Yeah, most places are moving trick or treating up an hour because if it were kept at the same time, it would be impossible to tell who has porch lights on and who doesn't.

Unfortunately, some jurisdictions are keeping it at the same time to intentionally ruin it. A lot of local law enforcement agencies hate it because they believe the fallacy that Halloween night is a dangerous time.

Ack! Someone forgot to tell the already configured clocks that today's not the day to change back to regular time!!!!!

LOL!!! my computer changed by itself, so I had to change it back this morning. How many other people changed their clocks?

The ancient desktop changed but my less than year old laptop didn't.

My VCR changed this morning!!!

Yes, I still have a VCR!!!

Ours did too! We have 2 VCR's still, one to tune in cable channels on an old TV, they come in handy for that purpose, and the other we actually use when I don't quite trust the basement DVR.
