Paranormal

I guess that the timing couldn't have been more perfect, considering Halloween is right around the corner.

I know we've had discussions before about ghosts, ESP, etc. and I for one tend to believe that they do happen.

This past Saturday, Marty's oldest son, JR got married. I took a lot of pictures of the ceremony and the people in the hall where the ceremony and reception were held. I've read about "orbs" - they are supposed to be spirits or the energy of spirits that have been captured by cameras, especially digital cameras, which is what I have.

I didn't notice this in any of my other pictures and a lot of them were dark because of the lighting. It could still be dust, a reflection of a speck of light but you certainly can't miss this. It's sitting right over one Marty's son's head.

It happens to me a lot when I take pictures at night. It's just dust and small particles in the air that when the light hits them, they seem to shine, and create like an "orb-like" appearance, but there's nothing more to it looking at the picture.

Whne you take a picture, and see a face or a human figure, run!!! j/k!!!

I watch a show on sci-fi called Ghost Hunters. They try to debunk hauntings through electronic means and they have found that most orbs are actually dust particles, as Hurakan says, stirred up by either airflow or people.

They try to debunk hauntings by looking for alternate explanations, such as bad piping, faulty electrical systems, etc. Jason and Grant try to prove paranormal happenings using the scientific method. If you looking for some paranormal entertainment, you should try Most Haunted on the Travel Channel. They jump and scream at every sound and movement. It's hilarious.

:uarrow: I have tried to seen it many times and it looks so stupid. I tend to have an open mind and even though I believe all this is not real, I wouldn't be surprised if there is some truth to it. In reality no one knows what really happens after we die.

I don't wanna see a pic of the groom (even though he is very nice looking). I wanna see a pic of the pretty Steph and her hubby! :D

Thank you Kathy. I didn't have any taken with my camera. Hopefully I'll get a couple sent to me that I can upload. :D

I was sitting with my wife tonight watching ghost hunters. They did a demonstration by releasing a handful of makeup dust in front of the camera and clapping their hands to stir up the air. Orb City!

Theresa watches all those shows. Thats when I go get on the computer!

To me, it was just so strange that it was just one rather large one in this picture. JR's grandfather, for who he is named, is dead and so is his grandfather from his mother's side. I knew that they would be there "in spirit" with us at anyrate.

I'm sure he was. I get so sentimental at weddings.

Those are cool, but many of them seem obviously fake. I've taken some mysterious photos myself, never looked into it much though.

I'm a professional photographer and I've shot over 50,000 images in my career and I can honestly say that I've NEVER seen an "orb" like particle in any picture I've ever taken. It may be dust particles or whatever else but I've never seen one and i use digital SLR cameras.

Who here believes in ghosts?

I kinda do... and I kinda don't at the same time. I kinda don't because the idea of spirits walking around just seems totally rediculous to me... and I kinda do because... well... I've seen some things.

Alarm clocks randomly setting themselves and going off (happened to me a few nights ago), lights that I KNOW I turned off before leaving the house being on when I come back, with all the doors locked, ceiling fans changing speeds randomly, doors closing and opening by themselves, a non-cordless phone that had been unplugged with no charge or activation RINGING with no caller, (happened at least 4 times a day in my classroom at my old middle school, we eventually hooked up the phone and the mysterious ringing stopped), every computer in my computer class shut off at once, with no outages to anything else, and no outlet problems, my tv turned on right in front of my eyes once (very freaky), radio stations changing by themselves (I happened to have a video camera, and I got footage of that) and a WHOLE bunch of other random stuff. Am I saying these were ghosts? Not at all, but I still can't explain them.

I'm interested... Anyone else got any stories?
