Don't buy Pepsi in the new can!


Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building and the Pledge of Allegiance on it. But, Pepsi left out two little
words on the pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they did not want to offend
anyone.

If this is true then we do not want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate
office. If we do not buy any Pepsi products then they will not receive any
of our monies. Our money after all does have the words "Under God" on it.
Please pass this word to everyone you know--let your voices be heard.

This idea of political correctness has gone way too far. How does keeping the words "under God" in the pledge of allegiance offend anyone? The words "In God We Trust" appears on money, but I have never heard anyone complain about it offending them.

I agree. this is an example of PC going to far. It seems in their effort to not offend people all's they have done is Offend people:):). Will this ever end?:):):)

Back up, it's not true. I've read this one several times over the past year or so. It was Dr. Pepper, not Pepsi. And it wasn't the Pledge that they put on the can. It was simply a banner at the top that said, "One Nation...Indivisible."

But we all fall for them once in a while. When I was little, I believed that tale about how the "scream" heard on the song "Roller Coaster" was a woman being attacked backstage during the recording.

Some of the urban legends are true -- but still legends. Sometimes it's hard to know what to believe until you see it for yourself or until you get the facts from a reliable source.

Speaking of urban legends, did you all know there is a giant Buddha statue on Galveston Island? Yes, I'm serious.

Your best bet is to start on Seawall Blvd and turn on 29th Street (right, left, whatever...depending upon your orientation to the Gulf ). Drive slowly north along the first couple of blocks and look to your right. If you cross Avenue R, you've gone too far (but if you're looking, you won't miss it). It's between two houses just south of R, built kinda of back from the road, up on the flat roof of a garage or some kind of storage building. Just below the Buddha, on the building, is a big cross.

I don't know the story behind it, who owns it, or how long it's been there. I just know that I saw it and had to ask the person driving to stop and back up because I had to have a witness to what I had just seen. It's not everyday that you see a large plump pink and blue Buddha statue (unless of course, you live there).

I believe Dr. Pepper is a Pepsi product.

Actually, no...I used to think that also, because in KY, the Dr. Pepper was always in the Pepsi machines and got distributed by the Pepsi guys. Then I moved down here to TX and learned that Pepsico makes Pepsi products and Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up, Inc. based in Waco is the company for DP/7-Up.

I don't like Dr. Pepper at all. Tastes like a bad variety of root beer (which I don't like). But since it's a TX product, alot of people down here seem to take it and its origins seriously.

So, Dr. Pepper is a 7-Up product?

Dr. Pepper doesn't sell too well in Massachusetts. I heard that their headquarters are in Kentucky.

Dr. Pepper originated in Waco and the corporate HQ is in Plano, TX (my bad if I said Waco for the HQ earlier).

I know Long John Silver's corporate headquarters is in KY. Aside from that, not much else that I know of besides bourbon, horses, George Clooney, Seabiscuit, and basketball. (Lived there for 20 years...thankfully wasn't born there)

Actually, I know Dr. Pepper sells very well in Kentucky, not that I thought the headquarters were there; it honestly came out the wrong way.

I apologize for going off topic, I was responding to a post in this thread. Hopefully it is understood (as is mentioned from time to time) one issue can lead to another issue based on the same topic.

Shame on Pepsi! Good thing I only like Coke and Dr Pepper anyway. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this.

Dr. Pepper is based in TX... Coke in Atlanta, and Pepsi in NY state... and hey, what about KFC??????? Yep, it originated here in KY... was that Louisville or Corbin???
