Congratulations Pro-storm. You won't regret it. How long has it been now?
I quit in the middle of June and feel 100% better. Do you have people around you that still smoke?

Congratulations Pro-Storm!! That is fantastic!!!!! My dad smoked for over 25 years too and he quit cold turkey one day. That was 16 years ago and he hasn't smoked since. He is older now but in much better health than when he smoked. They told him his lungs would start to heal right after he quit. You've made a wonderful decision. :D

Now, what are we gonna do about Dennis? ;)

:D That's wonderful news ProStorm!!! Sometimes a realization like that helps to give you that push you need to quit. Keep us informed as to how you are doing - type something to us instead of lighting up when you feel the urge!

Ed - two months is a long time! I'd say you've gone over the hump and won't be looking back.

I still smoke - perhaps someday. I just need to make up my mind to do it, that's all!

Pro-Storm, Coriolis, all you "quitters"....that's something that
you can be PROUD to be a quitter for! I give you both a
HIGH-FIVE slap!

I still tend to pick them up and puff, being a nurse and
sitting bedside while many a person with emphysema
or throat/lung cancer took their last breath...you'll say,
"how can you still do it"?

The dang things are THAT addictive! (I was sooooo cool at 18,
puffing a ciggie, I thought!)

NOT!

Another HIGH-FIVE slap with the other hand!!!

Thank you so much each and every one!! To answer some of the questions....Yes, I did quit "cold turkey". Just the thought of the taste kinda makes me wanna hurl! And yes, there are people smoking around me at home so, it is hard......ON THEM!! Hey Dennis, not only will I be able to afford more golf, but more expensive courses as well....like Harbor Town in Hilton Head. They charge anywhere from $95 to $195 for a round!! Keep 'em in the fairway!!

Some people just get tired of them or just downright sick of them. When I was a kid, I would see someone smoking and thought "That looks so crazy to see them with smoke everywhere and holding it in their hands blowing smoke outta their mouths" As I grew older my thoughts changed and felt bad for them because of the addiction to the drug nicotine.

This post was not to offend smokers. Just a childhood flashback. LOL!!

No offense taken Linda.......as I've said before, it's funny, I can't stand to be around another smoker in an enclosed area, I HATE the smell of smoke, that's why I don't smoke in the house PLUS it's out of respect for Michelle who, as most of you know, does triathlons.

Hey Pro.....if your ever out this way, we'll head to the Sedona Golf Resort, I just picked up the lastest issue of Az Golfers Guide, I noticed the rates are dropping, 18 holes now....190$.....prime season ONLY 225$!

Dennis, I would love to head west over to the Pine Top area and meet you good folks and play a round of golf or two!! Problem is....I'm working all the time, and my wife already has plans to go down to Disney for our Vacation this year. Maybe someday we can hook up and I'll show ya my 325 yard "draw" with a 3 wood!
