though the principle of what his intentions are, is excellent... it just won't happen, the world is just too dependent on the internet in this day and age. and to shut down the internet would mean major chaos with every single business and person period.

Today the internet service is what makes a computer so valuable to have, without internet my computer would be shut down almost the entire day.

There was another article he admits to be a technophobe and "a Luddite", so his stance on the internet and music today is not surprising. In article, he blamed the decline on quality of music today on the internet. I agree with on the state of music today. But I think it has more to do with greed on the part of the record labels and less than the 'internet' and modern technology.

Whatever . . . internet isn't going shut down because Elton John hates and wants it shut down. He is welcome to his opinion as long as I can continue to ignore his rants about the "evil" internet.

If he doesn't like the internet, he shouldn't use it...but he shouldn't screw it up for the rest of us.

Alas, Sir Elton John has spoken. I guess I'll just go dig out my ink well and feather quill so I can communicate like they did during the musically creative time period of Mozart.

he may not like the internet but he sure can put on a concert! And just yesterday for his birthday, my husband who is an avid elton john fan, got an autographed microphone!

A local charity had a function and a silent auction. There's a company that gets celebrities autographs and sells them only through charity functions. I don't remember the name of the company. My sil won the silent auction and knew her brother really likes elton john. He was stunned when he opened it!
