Hours can go by and my daughters won't even notice, b/c they've been creating their Sims' families, houses, etc. Yep, nice "family".

I used to enjoy Sim City 2000? Does that count? LOL

Chad - hey do you remember this word - topsgazardo? I know that's not spelled correctly but my kids used that cheat for extra $ when building a city with SC2000. I preferred to build my cities slowly, with the minimal amount and somehow devised a system where I didn't cheat at all. I just accelerated the time frame and before I knew it, I had lots of money and a high approval rating. Oh the time I spent building cities.....it was a nice 1 hour break (each day or so).

The other game I used to enjoy was Oregon Trail II.

Yeah, I got Sims 2 about a year ago. I regret it. Boooooring! Simcity 4 was great, but I could not get into The Sims. It was fun for a while, but eventualy, it became.... repetitive.

Then again, it's not really my genre of games. I like SSBM, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Pokemon Blue, Super Mario World, SMW2 Yoshi's island, basically anything Nintendo. I'm old school like that. Games made after 2002 aren't extremely impressive, storyline wise. Graphics just get better, but the plots just get more boring.

I have played the first Sims (The Sims) and it was great. It does get boring after weeks play though. There is something about it though that is very appealing to me and can cause hours to fly by at a time.

I have also played the Sim City games which are great too. I like the tornado in the 3rd one (seems to be talked about often in that one).

My kids sat me down over a Christmas break years ago to try playing one of the Sims. They said look you can design your own house, choose furniture, wallpaper, etc. Well, let me tell you, the sun was shining when I started, I got so immersed in playing it, I about jumped out of my skin when my husband walked up and said hi, what's for dinner? Dinner? This was Dec. so it was dark already, going on 6! Where did the afternoon go I asked....my kids kept saying I had to keep playing b/c you couldn't save until you designed everything and chose your family.

That was the last time I ever played the game. I lost all track of time and we probably ordered a pizza that night.....LOL

I much more preferred Sim City 2000, you could spend a hour, but save each time and come back to your city later. More my speed.

Oregon Trail 2 was also fun. I could get to my destination in under an hour. If the phone didn't ring....LOL

Good times, good times......
