This Makes Me Sick! (Pet Owner Advisory)

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Wed Aug 01, 2007 7:40 am

This all started with a high speed police chase in Northern Dallas and Southern Collin Counties in Texas, then it ended with police finding a dead cat in a cage. It then escalated in a search warrant at the suspect's home and what did they find? Dead, and/or sick pets crammed in the house.

You can read full story here

This suspect (named Ronald Teague) said he's rushing his cat to the hospital because he's dying (Bullcrap). Why he didn't tell the police about this issue? Because he's hoping the police would stay off his tail.

I hope he's locked up for life.

Locally, there have been a few stories in the news of police finding dozens of locked up animals, neglected by owners, living in filth with very little food or water, if any. Neighbors had complained about the smell. All I can say is these people are sick, I don't understand how they can live in filth themselves but to sit by and neglect a starving animal, is disturbing to say the least. I also wonder if many of these stories are coming out b/c it is Summer. One local story stated they found neglected animals, some dead already, in a trailer without A/C, temp reached near 100.

Sometimes I think the world has just gone mad. :-( Truly I do......

I once investigated a case where a woman collected animals. As they would die, she'd put them in tupperware containers and put them under her bed, in closets, etc. She had about 40 dead animals and 40 live animals in here house.

She was referred to the probate judge, who is the county official charged with ruling people mentally incompetent.

I believe she was committed, but never followed up as it was out of our agency by that point.
